In the late 1960’s, the City of Indianapolis constructed a series of interstate highways to circle and traverse the city. As the spokes of this wheel crossed through the city itself, destruction and displacement followed. On the southeast side of the city, the effects were disastrous. The Chasm on Virginia Avenue affirms the echoes of what was lost, examines and compares the two neighborhoods that arose in the aftermath and contemplates what the future could hold for the area in a time where the highways that created these rifts are themselves being reconstructed.
The tabloid edition measures 17 by 11, with 44 total pages, 98 images and several text passages. Color elements adorn the outside pages, with black and white images, made on film, comprising the body.
Current edition printing of 200.
